about

The pentatonic melody in the chorus was the most fun part to write in this song. That and the harmonies that are underneath it. My time in Cannes inspired most of the lyrics, as well as the EP title.

lyrics

Verse 1:
Every step we take brings us to our last moments together
But I’m secretly hoping you’ll take my hand and tell me to stay
And now the hands of the clock slowly break my heart
We pretended so long we would never see, see this day

Chorus:
Our last grains of sand fall to the bottom of the hourglass
But we’ll see each other I hope some day, we’ll see each other I hope some day
Time flew by and it breaks my heart
But we’ll see each other I hope some day, we’ll see each other I hope some day

Verse 2:
I wanna go right back to when tomorrow was never on our minds
Back to when we would talk all night, just to watch the sun rise
And I wanna hit pause, rewind and play again
Cuz it helps me forget that now we have to say, say goodbye

Chorus:
Our last grains of sand fall to the bottom of the hourglass
But we’ll see each other I hope some day, we’ll see each other I hope some day
Time flew by and it breaks my heart
But we’ll see each other I hope some day, we’ll see each other I hope some day

Bridge:
Time broke us up but I know this isn’t goodbye
Still it’s so hard to leave these memories behind

Chorus:
Our last grains of sand fall to the bottom of the hourglass
But we’ll see each other I hope some day, we’ll see each other I hope some day
Time flew by and it breaks my heart
But we’ll see each other I hope some day, we’ll see each other I hope some day

We'll see each other I know some day
